All that we are is the result of what we have thought.
A multi-disciplinary artist based between New York and Shanghai.
Raised in Antwerp, Belgium, where at an early age learned the art of crafting diamonds, fostering my creative eye and nimble hands.
Later on i worked as a hairstylist & designer in New York City where I opened a salon & photo studio.
Having found a new way of self-expression through photography, I discovered how the retouching techniques I used in fashion and art photography could be used to create digital art with a message.
I approached this art based on the international political and social issues I witnessed while traveling in Africa, middle east,Asia and throughout Europe juxtaposing East and West, military might and spirituality, power and vulnerability and completed my first series titled; “if it disturbs you it’s art.” a body of work that intended to awake and provoke a questioning of the world's current state of affairs. I exhibited this first series in collaboration with Pearl Lam Gallery and also shown this series with various galleries all over the world.
I see my work as a journey of exploration through varied themes and usage of different materials to create unique pieces.
I collaborated with Swarovski Crystal building a giant stainless steel skull sculpture titled “Die To Live,” measuring 7 feet tall and featuring a staggering 350.000 individual crystals, highlighting the imaginative ways in which crystals can be incorporated into art and design.
Another inspirational piece was "Dragon" standing at 13 feet tall made out of Aluminum and covered in gold leaf. Dragon represented China holding an American glass sphere in the palm of its hand showing China's responsability and power in today's world.
I recently unveiled "Love Buddha” at Art Basel Miami 2016 at the Faena hotel. And have been working on what will become my largest and boldest sculptural work of art Titled " LOVE" which will be presented during Burning Man 2017 🔥
